The Salzburg Card is the official tourist card of Salzburg, offering free admission to over 20 sights, unlimited use of public transport and discounts at many other attractions.

There are three variants of the Salzburg Card, which differ in terms of validity: 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours. There are no other differences.

The prices for adults (aged 16 and over) are: EUR 31.00 for 24 hours, EUR 40.00 for 48 hours and EUR 46.00 for 72 hours. Reduced prices are available for children aged 6 to 15.

The above prices are valid from May to October. From November to April, the Salzburg Card costs slightly less.

Yes, children from 6 to 15 years receive the Salzburg Card at a reduced price.

Children under the age of 6 have free admission to most Salzburg museums and therefore do not need a Salzburg Card. Exceptions are the Bible World, the House of Nature, Hellbrunn Palace with its trick fountains, the boat trip, the Toy Museum and the zoo - here children aged 4 and over pay. Depending on which attractions you would like to visit with your children, a Salzburg Card may also be useful for children between the ages of 4 and 6.

The Salzburg Card allows you to visit around 20 sights in Salzburg and the surrounding area free of charge and use all public transport free of charge within the scope of its validity. You receive a discount on other services. The Salzburg Card can be purchased online and collected in Salzburg city centre. You then present it at the participating attractions.

You can buy the Salzburg Card online or in person at the tourist offices. It is also available at many other locations: Salzburg Card points of sale

You can pick up the Salzburg Card at the following tourist information centres:

  • Tourist Info - Mozartplatz 5, 5020 Salzburg (opening hours: daily 9:00 - 18:00, closed on Sundays from January to March)
  • Tourist Info - Südtirolerplatz 1, 5020 Salzburg, at the main railway station (opening hours: daily 9:00 - 18:00)

Restricted opening hours on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

The Salzburg Card is activated by writing your name, the date and time of activation on the card. You can then use the card at participating attractions and on public transport.

No, the purchase at Tiqets.com is generally non-refundable. However, you can buy a refundable Salzburg Card for an additional charge.

A reservation is usually not necessary.

The Salzburg Card can be used during the opening hours of the participating attractions.

No, organised city tours are not included in the Salzburg Card. However, there is a discount for the hop-on hop-off bus.

Yes, you can buy the Salzburg Card for several people. You will then receive several vouchers which you can exchange for the corresponding number of Salzburg Cards.

Yes, the Salzburg Card is personal and cannot be passed on to other people. To activate the card, you must enter your name on the card.

With the Salzburg Card, you can skip the queues at some (but not all) attractions. This applies, for example, to Hohensalzburg Fortress, the House of Nature and the Salzburg Open-Air Museum.

No, with the Salzburg Card you can only visit each attraction once.

Yes, the Untersberg cable car can be used with the Salzburg Card (ascent and descent). Please note that the Untersbergbahn is closed twice a year for maintenance work. In 2025, the Untersbergbahn will be out of service on the following days: 3 March to 11 April and 3 November to 12 December.
